Under 16s take Cup
On Saturday (26th April) our Under 16s took the honours by winning the South Munster U16 Cup against a tough and well drilled BantryBay side with all scores coming in the early part of the first half.
In attrocious conditions which probably did not suit either side, the Highfield boys made better use of the breeze. Going in at half time with an eleven point lead,
it was expected by the large crowd that the breeze was probably worth at least six or seven points. Bantry Bay threw everything at the Highfield boys but failed to break through the defensive line,
and when full time arrived, all players were spent, having given their all in an exciting and well played contest. Congratulations to all concerned.

As the ground hardens up we take a break from Rugby for the Summer months and start our preparation for next season. Already team coaches and managers are in place ( the website will have the updates in the next couple of weeks ), and our coaching plans for next season are being drafted. Some teams will have conditioning sessions over the summer months, but most will return in August - more on that later.
